I like to take a holistic approach to problem solving, systems thinking helps...

What shall we say then?

what is systems thinking?

WHAT IS SYSTEMS THINKING?

Systems thinking makes complexity manageable by taking a broad, holistic perspective (rather than a reductionist one).

Systems thinking embraces complexity, doesn't try to ignore it or pretend it's not there.

A systems thinker, intervening in a situation with the aim of managing aspects of complexity inherent in it, will allow their chosen methodology to drive their approach. The methodology is in part a device by which the intuition of the systems thinker can be countered. The purpose of this is to aid the systems thinker in ensuring that their analysis is holistic, incorporates multiple perspectives and recognises multi-causality leading to the emergent properties of the systems discovered in the situation.
